THE PROMISE OF THE FATHER (DAY 56 OF 365)

THE PROMISE OF THE FATHER

(Nuggets from Luke 24:49)

When Jesus spoke to his disciples the night before He died on the cross, He knew they would be facing dark days. For three and a half years, these men had followed him, believing He was going to save Israel from the oppression of Rome, not fully understanding that He had come to save us all from our sins. His death was going to leave them staggering and in distress, He knew this clearly; So, as He shared a last meal with them, He promised that another comforter would come in His stead.

This COMFORTER is the HOLY SPIRIT.

He would help them, He would stay with them forever, not just for a moment or even a season, but always. Not only would He be with them, He would live inside them.

Prior to this time, the Israelites in the old testament, prophets of old, and a few others in the new testament had felt the impact of the Holy Spirit for a short time. However, Jesus promised them, that this time, it would be different.
The Holy Spirit was coming to dwell with them now PERMANENTLY, no more a temporary deed.

On the day of Pentecost, the promise was fulfilled. The Holy Spirit came down to live in every believer on that day.

After the Pentecost, the Holy Spirit has been baptizing BELIEVERS from all works of life who yearn for His presence and today, once you are born again and SANCTIFIED, you can receive the Holy Ghost Baptism. He is an INTELLIGIBLE BEING, not an object .

IF YOU DESIRE HIS PRESENCE, YOU CAN HAVE IT, BUT HOLINESS IS A PREREQUISITE AND TO RETAIN HIM IN YOUR LIFE, REMAIN HOLY.

This is HOLINESS CHALLENGE
