CLEANSED BY THE BLOOD, WASHED WITH THE WORD
(Nuggets from Hebrews 10:22)

Through the Priesthood of Jesus Christ, at salvation, the HEART of a repentant sinner is cleansed from sin  by the sprinkling of His BLOOD.

In addition to the cleansing of the heart from an evil conscience, the body needs to be washed with pure water, but in this case, not the LITERAL WATER, but the WATER OF GOD'S WORD.

In the old testament, Moses brought Aaron and his sons, and washed them with WATER. He also sprinkled the blood of the animals on the altar upon Aaron and his sons, and upon their garments, and sanctified them.

This was Moses playing his Priestly role, to ordain them as priests who would also serve in that capacity on behalf of the children of Israel.

In this present dispensation, we are no longer under the old order of killing animals and sprinkling their blood; Jesus offered Himself as a PERFECT SACRIFICE, ONCE AND FOR ALL. Now as you submit yourself to Him at the cross, He sprinkles His blood on you and washes you clean from every FILTH of sin and the accompanying GUILT, 
ordaining you as a PRIEST like Him, giving you the right to ACCESS THE THRONE OF GRACE. 

Just as Aaron and his sons had the privilege of Moses, the high-priest, once you are cleansed by the blood of Jesus, you now have the privilege of a High-Priest like Him.

SALVATION comes through FAITH.
If you do not believe what Jesus did on the cross for you, it would be practically impossible to APPROACH GOD'S THRONE OF GRACE to obtain mercy and forgiveness of sins.

Once you repent, the Blood of Jesus will wash you clean from every sin.
Being CLEANSED BY THE BLOOD of sprinkling is not a guarantee that you will never have the tendency to commit sin again, hence the need to be WASHED BY THE WATER of God's word.

The more you read the word of God, the more it washes you and takes off every dirt in you and this can only be sustained through CONSECRATION and SANCTIFICATION, ensuring that your WHITE GARMENT remains unstained and spotless without blemish.
