(Nuggets from John 15:15)
Many are called CHRISTIANS, but we do not all share the same STATUS.
In John 15:14, Jesus said:
"You are My friends if you keep on doing the things which I command you to do."
OBEDIENCE makes the DIFFERENCE!
Jesus said if you approve yourselves by your obedience my disciples indeed, you are my friends, and shall be treated as friends; this shows clearly that it is up to you to be a FRIEND OF CHRIST.
Every TRUE CHILD OF GOD starts as a SERVANT of Christ, because He is our LORD and MASTER. However, the SERVANT in this case is not unto SERVITUDE but unto OBEDIENCE and LOYALTY.
The question is: HOW LOYAL ARE YOU TO CHRIST?
If you perform your duty as His SERVANT, you will be ADMITTED and UPGRADED to the STATUS of His FRIEND.
Though Christ called His APOSTLES His friends, they called themselves His SERVANTS:
Peter, a SERVANT of Christ
(1 Peter 1:1);
"James, a SERVANT of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ".
They had the virtue - HUMILITY.
Being upgraded as a FRIEND of Christ doesn't make you equal with Him, it is a RARE PRIVILEGE which must not be ABUSED.
Carry out your stewardship as a SERVANT and follow Jesus in ABSOLUTE HUMILITY as a FRIEND.
Being a FRIEND OF CHRIST avails you the opportunity to have ACCESS TO PRIVILEGE INFORMATION that mere SERVANTS can never know about.
Jesus did that "all things He has heard of God, He makes known to His FRIENDS ", showing that being a FRIEND gives you ACCESS TO GOD'S MIND and PLANS.
"He made known his ways unto Moses, His acts unto the children of Israel." Psalm 103:7
Jesus Christ is the VINE and only those who ABIDE IN HIM and REMAIN IN HIM will be regarded as FRIENDS, but all those who refuse to become BRANCHES and FAIL TO REMAIN IN HIM will REMAIN SERVANTS.
