THINK YOU'RE WISE IN YOUR EYES? (DAY 111 TO 365)

THINK YOU'RE WISE IN YOUR EYES?
(Nuggets from Proverbs 26:12)

Today's scripture warns us against SELF-CONCEIT, SELF-IMPORTANCE, SELF-SUFFICIENCY, and SELF-EXALTATION.

The only one whom God puts on a lower level than a fool is a conceited fool - those who think they know it all, and as a result, resist every opportunity to learn, improve or take corrections when necessary.

Self-conceited individuals are likened to the man described by King Solomon in Proverbs 29:20:
"Seest thou a man that is hasty in his words? There is more hope of a fool than of him". The man described here is a fiery and hot-tempered person. Such people have refused to allow Christ to rule them; the SELF in them still has the upper hand.

Apostle Paul also described SELF-CONCEITED people in Romans 12:16. They are those who have distorted minds, not having the same mind with one another, especially in the household of Faith; they are those who mind high things, who never condescend to men of low estate just like Jesus our Lord who gave up His status in the trinity to come and die for a sinful and wicked world.

WISE PEOPLE ARE THOSE WHO ARE EAGER TO LEARN AND IMPROVE BY THE DAY.

You won't see a wise person gushing over the fact that he or she knows a lot; they learn, build and grow secretly, but the results are seen in the public. A wise person wants to learn from anyone, irrespective of the age gap. A Wise person may be old but what makes them stand out is that they are humble enough to learn from a child if that's the only thing it would take to get better and improve.

Those who are wise in their own conceit are exhibiting SPIRITUAL ARISTOCRACY, forgetting that there are no aristocrats in this Kingdom. God is the ONLY SUPREME DEITY, and everyone else is His subject.

Another characteristic trait of those who are wise in their own conceit is that they are given to schism and caste-distinction in the house of God, forming cliques and parties, carrying themselves about with over bloated self-esteem and marginalizing others.

THESE THINGS OUGHT NOT BE IN THE HOUSE OF GOD!

You are wise not because you tell people so, but because you choose to remain humble even though you know a lot. Stop bragging as though you can do life alone without the assistance of anyone.

You need someone, we all do.

Appreciate every moment you have to improve on yourself and harness every opportunity you have to grow because NO MAN IS AN ISLAND.

This is HOLINESS CHALLENGE
