UNITED IN LABOUR
(Nuggets from 1 Corinthians 3:8)
Apostle Paul here used an agricultural analogy to show that the success of a farming venture does not lie in the hands of just one person.
Even before the planting proper, the farm land needs to be cleared, the grasses need to be burnt, and ridges need to be made. There is DIVISION OF LABOUR for maximum efficiency, ease of work and ultimate productivity.
If the farmer decides to do all these tasks on his own without involving anyone else, he will definitely get weary, worn out and possibly break down to the point that he wouldn't be able to embark on the cultivation proper.
In this analogy by Apostle Paul, the PLANTER and the WATERER are one in that they are both working for the same cause. However, he added that “EVERY MAN shall receive his own REWARD (from God, not from man), according to his labour.”
There is an INDIVIDUALITY as well as a UNITY in the work of the MINISTRY. This is, however, not a thing to be noticed by men, but it will be recognised by the CHIEF HUSBANDMAN who owns the vineyard - GOD HIMSELF.
As workers and ministers in God's vineyard, we should see only ourselves as instruments used by God, don't put yourself into the place of God. He that planteth and he that watereth are one, employed by one Master, trusted with the same work, and engaged in one design. We have our different gifts from one and the same Spirit, for the very same purposes; and should carry on the same design heartily. Those who are most faithful shall have the greatest reward.
As you prioritize God's work in the SALVATION of PRECIOUS SOULS, God who knows and sees the work you are doing will take care of you and ensure that you do not labour in vain.
The HARVEST is PLENTEOUS but the LABOURERS are FEW.
Are you among the few labourers?
GOD WILL NOT FORGET YOUR LABOR OF LOVE, AND HE WILL REWARD YOU HERE ON EARTH AND ALSO IN ETERNITY TO COME.
This is HOLINESS CHALLENGE
