(Nuggets from Jeremiah 33:6)
🎄Welcome to DECEMBER🎄
In this new month, it has pleased the Lord to bring glad tidings your way and pronounce the BLESSINGS OF HEALING, PEACE, and TRUTH to you.
God had FANTASTIC BLESSINGS in store for Judah and Jerusalem, such as will redress all their grievances.
Judah and Jerusalem were DISEASED, WOUNDED, CHAOTIC and were DEVOID of DIRECTION because they abandoned the ways of the Lord.
God looked at their precarious situation and promised to HEAL them of their DISEASES (both physical, emotional and spiritual).
Prophet Isaiah also talked about their DEGENERATED HEALTH:
"The whole head is sick, and the whole heart faint". (Isaiah 1:5)
At this time, Judah and Jerusalem were totally devastated, and they had to deal with the consequences of their disobedience which was DESTRUCTION and being EXILES in Babylon.
Despite this, God assured them of FUTURE RESTORATION. The terms "health" and "healing" suggest not only physical restoration but also emotional, mental and spiritual renewal. This promise can be seen as a foreshadowing of the ultimate healing brought by Jesus Christ, who is the GREATEST PHYSICIAN who went about healing all manner of diseases during His earthly ministry.
After the call of Matthew the disciple, the Pharisees murmured and complained to the disciples of Jesus, asking them why their master was eating with PUBLICANS and SINNERS. Jesus heard what they said and told His disciples that "those who are whole/healthy do not need a physician, but those who are sick." (Matthew 9:12). Here, Jesus made it clear to them that as a PHYSICIAN, He came to attend to the SPIRITUAL NEEDS of the publicans and sinners because they needed help and they acknowledged it.
There was a SHIFT from JUDGMENT to MERCY, highlighting GOD'S GRACE.
God's own people forsook the ways and commandments of God and they had to pay for it by suffering the Babylonian siege and subsequent exile. Nevertheless, this promise of HEALING came their way as a REASSURANCE of God's COVENANT FAITHFULNESS. It also points to the New Covenant, where healing is extended to all nations through Christ (Isaiah 53:5, 1 Peter 2:24).
The HEALING of the people is a recurring theme in the prophetic books, emphasizing God's desire for the well-being of His people.
Apart from HEALING, God also promised to reveal to them the ABUNDANCE of PEACE and TRUTH.
The REVELATION of "PEACE and TRUTH" signifies a FUTURE ERA of HARMONY and DIVINE UNDERSTANDING.
In the Hebrew context, "PEACE" (shalom) encompasses COMPLETENESS, WELFARE, and TRANQUILITY. "Truth", (emet) refers to FAITHFULNESS and RELIABILITY. This promise is fulfilled in the coming of the MESSIAH, who is the EMBODIMENT of PEACE and TRUTH (John 14:6, Ephesians 2:14). The abundance of these qualities suggests a time of PROSPERITY and DIVINE FAVOR, contrasting with the current turmoil faced by God's people.
PEACE here stands for "SHALOM", which encompasses total wholesomeness, Holistic well-being, both physically, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually.
PEACE is having ABSOLUTE TRANQUILITY in all facets of your life. The PEACE which Jesus gives us is second to none, it cannot be acquired or bought with money.
Jesus said in John 14:27A:
"Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you."
There is a vast difference between "PEACE WITH GOD", which all true believers have, and "THE PEACE OF GOD" of which Jesus speaks in this verse.
The PEACE of this world is on the SURFACE and ARTIFICIAL, but the PEACE OF GOD which Jesus gives is GENUINE and NEVER FADES.
The PEACE of GOD is a SANCTIFYING PEACE.
(1 Thessalonians 5:23, Philippians 4:7)
"And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus."
This PEACE keeps your heart from sin and makes you LOVE RIGHTEOUSNESS and HATE INIQUITY.
Christ ruled by the power of TRUTH and still reigns by it. (John 18:37) Jesus said that anyone who is of the TRUTH hears His voice, by listening actively and doing God's will.
DIVINE REVELATION of PEACE and TRUTH brings HEALTH and CURE to all those who receive it by FAITH.
If you truly want to ENJOY THESE DIVIDENDS of God's BLESSINGS OF HEALING, PEACE and TRUTH, you must PUT GOD FIRST in all you do, PLEASE HIM ALWAYS and in return, you will get REWARDED FOR YOUR LOYALTY both here in this world and in ETERNITY.
