IF YOU SEEK THE LORD, YOU WILL FIND HIM
(Nuggets from Deuteronomy 4:29)
“But if from thence thou shalt seek the LORD thy God, thou shalt find him, if thou seek him with all thy heart and with all thy soul.”
This is not a suggestion or a teaser. This is the iron-clad, blood-sealed PROMISE of the Almighty God: Seek Me with everything you’ve got, and you WILL find Me. No fine print, no rejection clause, no “except for people with your kind of past.”
From the throne of Heaven comes the loudest invitation ever shouted to a rebel race: COME HOME. I AM WAITING WITH OPEN ARMS.
Moses was speaking to a generation that had danced around golden calves only months after hearing God’s voice thunder from Mount Sinai. They had seen plagues, pillars of cloud and fire, manna every morning, yet their hearts still chased idols of wood and stone that “neither see, nor hear, nor eat, nor smell.” (Deuteronomy 4:28). God could have wiped them out. Instead, He gave them Deuteronomy 4:29, one of the greatest comeback clauses in history.
Fast-forward. Jerusalem was burnt down to ashes, and the temple became nothing but rubble. The people were enslaved in Babylon, exactly as God warned (Jeremiah 16:13). Seventy years of eating humiliation. Yet right there, in the middle of the mess they created, God whispers again: “When you seek Me with ALL your heart, I will be found by you… and I will bring you back” (Jeremiah 29:13-14). The same God who scattered them for idolatry became the God who chased them into captivity with mercy!
YOUR WORST MOMENT IS GOD’S FAVORITE MISSION FIELD.
God specializes in finding people at rock bottom.
Rahab the HARLOT, (Joshua 2) Who could have thought that our Lord Jesus would emerge from the lineage of a harlot? God does not reason like men, He looks beyond the dirt and stink.
Manasseh the CHILD-SACRIFICING OCCULTIC KING (2 Chronicles 33:12-13), God transformed him through his captors when they took him to Babylon. He humbled himself, repented in dust and ashes, prayed to God, and God heard him, showed him mercy, and restored him to his kingdom once again.
The THIEF dying on the cross next to Jesus (Luke 23:42-43), this was “SALVATION BY THE WHISKERS.” He rebuked the other thief who mocked Jesus, acknowledged that both thieves deserved their punishment, and stated clearly that Jesus was INNOCENT and did not deserve to be crucified alongside criminals like them. He didn’t stop there, He looked beyond the apparent helpless condition of Jesus who was nailed on the cross. He recognized the DIVINE AUTHORITY and FUTURE KINGDOM of Jesus and SHOT HIS SHOT; he said “remember me when you come into your Kingdom,” and his humble plea was granted.
Saul the CHURCH-PERSECUTOR on his way to Damascus to inflict pain on the church (Acts 9); every single one of them had a past that screamed “unqualified,” yet Heaven threw a party the day they turned.
Modern idolatry has only changed costume. We don’t bow to wood and stone; we bow to likes, money, pornography, power, career, tradition, even ministry (WORKING FOR GOD but refusing to WALK WITH GOD). Anything you fear more, love more, or obey more than God is your idol, and God still says the same thing He said to the Israelites thousands of years ago: “If you get sick of those dead gods and turn back to Me with your whole heart, I will be found.” No sin outweighs the Blood of Jesus, no past scares Him, no failure shocks Him.
Nehemiah 1:9 drops another mind-blowing promise: “Even if you have been banished to the farthest horizon, I will gather you from there and bring you to the place I have chosen as a dwelling for My Name.” Translation: There is no distance too far, no darkness too deep, no lifestyle too filthy that God cannot reach you TODAY. He will cross galaxies, storms, addictions, prisons, hospital wards, brothels, boardrooms, wherever you are hiding, just to rescue one repentant heart.
The prodigal son proved it (Luke 15). He had wasted everything on riotous living. He rehearsed a speech: “I am no longer worthy…” But while he was still a long way off, the Father ran, embraced him while he still smelled like pigs, and drowned his confession with kisses. That is your God. He doesn’t wait for you to clean up. He runs to you while you’re still dirty.
God’s UNCONDITIONAL LOVE knocks the breath out of every excuse.
The same God who cannot lie swears that if you seek Him TODAY, you WILL find Him. Not tomorrow, not after you’ve fixed your marriage, beaten the addiction, paid the debt, or gathered courage.
HE SAYS NOW! Because tomorrow is promised to no one. The rich fool in Luke 12 planned great things for “many years,” but God said, “This very night your soul will be required of you.”
DON’T GAMBLE WITH MERCY!
DON’T NEGOTIATE WITH GRACE!
The DOOR is wide open RIGHT NOW, the BLOOD is still wet on the mercy seat. Jesus is still praying and interceding for you at the right hand of the Father (Romans 8:34). The Holy Spirit is still convicting, drawing, knocking.
One final mind-blowing truth:
Hell will be filled with people who planned to repent later.
Heaven will be filled with people who repented five minutes before they died.
THE ONLY DIFFERENCE IS TIMING!
So, drop the phone, fall on your knees, cry out like blind Bartimaeus, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!” (Mark 10:47). Scream like Peter sinking, “Lord, save me!” (Matt 14:30). Run like the prodigal. The Father is already running toward you.
IF YOU SEEK HIM TODAY, YOU WILL FIND HIM TODAY. No appointment needed, no entrance exam, no hidden charges, no bottlenecks, Just a broken heart and an honest cry.
Stop running from the God who has never stopped running after you.
THE MERCY OF GOD is GREATER THAN ANY GUILT YOU FEEL WITHIN.
Don’t let the devil make excuses for you or deceive you to believe that you are DOOMED already. Jesus didn’t come to die for the SAINTS, HE DIED FOR THE SINNERS, irrespective of the degree or magnitude.
Turn, Seek, Find, and Live.
He’s closer than your next breath. Call on Him RIGHT NOW, and watch heaven throw the biggest party of your life. (Luke 15:7,10)
The choice is yours, but the promise is His.
SEEK HIM WHILE HE MAY BE FOUND. (Isaiah 55:6)
