(Nuggets from John 1:7)
John the Baptist was the forerunner of Jesus Christ our Lord. His mission was to prepare the way for the Messiah, and He understood his role and played it so well.
John heralded the FIRST COMING of the Messiah, he prepared the way and prepared the minds of the people, pointing to Jesus Christ as the LAMB OF GOD (denoting that Jesus would be sacrificed like a lamb) who would die for the sins of the world.
John bore witness of the light, Jesus Christ who came to illumine the world and put an end to darkness and obscurity, making SALVATION available to all who believe in Him.
Our Lord Jesus Christ completed His mission successfully, and now, the baton has been handed over to you and I to BEAR WITNESS IN THIS DARK WORLD. You have been commissioned to be a WITNESS for Jesus Christ, just like John the Baptist, but this time around, you are to prepare the way and prepare the minds of everyone who cares to know about the SECOND COMING of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Jesus Christ is coming again, not as a LAMB set to be slaughtered again, but as the SON OF GOD who will rule over the whole earth from His temple Jerusalem and exercise His supremacy over all.
To be a TRUE WITNESS in this dark world, you must be a LIGHT. Darkness cannot expel darkness, only light has the propensity to expel darkness.
You can be a TRUE WITNESS FOR JESUS CHRIST in this dark world through your WORDS and ACTIONS that people hear and see, the kind of COMPANY you keep, and the HABITS you exhibit.
Shining as a light in this dark world requires those who are exemplary in their LIFESTYLE and CONDUCT, not those who live their lives carelessly.
A TRUE WITNESS IS AN AMBASSADOR; your role is to be a WORTHY REPRESENTATIVE of your COUNTRY, to boost their image and perception to others.
If you must draw souls to the Kingdom, you must be ready to REPRESENT JESUS AS A TRUE WITNESS and point men to Him because He is the ONLY WAY, TRUTH AND LIFE.
This is HOLINESS CHALLENGE
