WHY CONTINUE IN SIN WHILE GRACE ABOUNDS?
(Nuggets from Romans 6:1)
Just because GRACE is greater than sin doesn't mean that the believer has a license to sin. GRACE IS NOT A LICENSE TO SIN. Romans 5:20B states that WHERE SIN ABOUNDED, GRACE DID MUCH MORE ABOUND; meaning that where sin increased, grace super-abounded.
Many Christians feel they can comfortably remain in sin just because they know the GRACE of God is very much available, but that is an error and a risky venture.
Grace is what empowers a child of God to live a RIGHTEOUS LIFE despite being in a CORRUPT WORLD. The RIGHTEOUSNESS we have as children of God is not ours, but imputed by virtue of our acknowledgement of Jesus as our Lord and saviour, so we are taking advantage of His RIGHTEOUSNESS, and this is what makes us the RIGHTEOUSNESS OF GOD IN CHRIST.
Unfortunately, many so-called Christians ABUSE the GRACE OF GOD simply because they feel they can sin whenever they like and confess afterwards and God will still accept them.
This is OUTRIGHT WICKEDNESS!
Hebrews 10:26 says "For if we sin willfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remains no more sacrifice for sins."
Jesus died on the cross of Calvary once and for all, and if anyone decides to continue in sin after repentance, it means there was no REPENTANCE in the first place, it was FAKE AND PRETENTIOUS. Eternity is not something anyone should joke with, because GRACE IS NOT ETERNAL; only those who take advantage of the Grace of God while it is still very much available will reap the dividends thereof.
GOD'S GRACE IS GREATER THAN YOUR SINS, but this should not be a ticket to go neck deep into sin because you feel God will answer you when you run back to him to confess your sins.
Going back to sin is like eating vomit and this if anyone who has once been forgiven by God decides to return the quagmire of sin, it means such a person wants to CRUCIFY JESUS ONCE AGAIN.
Jesus Christ has died once and for all, so continuing in sin means you don't cherish or place value on his sacrifice/death on the cross.
GRACE IS NOT A LICENSE TO SIN; IT'S THE VICTORY YOU HAVE OVER SIN; DON'T ABUSE IT.
This is HOLINESS CHALLENGE
