TO SEEK AND SAVE THE LOST
(Nuggets from Luke 19:10)
SEEKING takes a lot of effort, and it is not just a mere quest but an active one. The quest for dying souls is such that Jesus had to sacrifice His life for, a search that took Him to the cross of Calvary.
The lost in this context are not those who are physically lost and cannot find their way anymore, but the SPIRITUALLY LOST, who can't find their way to the cross.
What does it really mean to be lost? It means to be disconnected from God and not having a personal encounter with Jesus Christ His only son who is the ONLY WAY, TRUTH AND LIFE.
Being SPIRITUALLY LOST is such a tragedy and a precursor to being LOST FOREVER. It means to be alienated from a life with God, living outside of God’s design; falling short of His will for your life, fulfilling fleshly desires, walking under the influence of the power of sin, being a chronic evil-doer, being blind and not having ones eyes of understanding enlightened, being a slave to the lust of the flesh, lust of the eyes and pride of life, and all these makes the victim subject to the wrath that sin brings.
Jesus Christ came to this world with a PRIMARY ASSIGNMENT - to SEEK AND SAVE THE LOST, those who acknowledge that they can't find their way anymore, the blind, the maimed, and helpless.
It is one thing to be LOST and another TO KNOW YOU ARE LOST. So many people feel comfortable in their precarious situations and don't mind remaining there, just like the Israelites who were delivered from the servitude in Egypt but because they couldn't bear little inconvenience in the wilderness, they started missing the Cucumber and Garlic, preferring the pain inflicted on them by their taskmasters to the transient discomfort of journeying through the wilderness to get to the promised land.
To all those who acknowledge that they are lost and need to find their way back, the GOOD NEWS is that Jesus came to SEEK AND SAVE the LOST.
Jesus is on a rescue mission for YOU, because you are that IMPORTANT to Him; IF YOU ARE LOST, YOU CAN STILL BE FOUND.
This is HOLINESS CHALLENGE
