NOT MOVED BY AFFLICTIONS (DAY 130 OF 365)

NOT MOVED BY AFFLICTIONS
(Nuggets from 1 Thessalonians 3:3)

Apostle Paul was perturbed about the spiritual condition of the church in Thessalonica and he sent Timothy to go and establish the brethren over there, because they needed more teachings and admonition to comfort and encourage them.

His message to them through Timothy was that they should never be moved by the afflictions they were facing, because every follower of Christ has been DESTINED or APPOINTED to go through afflictions as part of our suffering and identification with Christ.

GENUINE BELIEVERS
share something in common -  THE FIGHT AGAINST SIN and THE OPPOSITION FROM THE WORLD.

It is a privilege for a CHRISTIAN to suffer for the cause of Christ: “It has been granted to you on behalf of Christ not only to believe in him, but also to suffer for him” (Philippians 1:29). Christians should not be surprised at the painful trials they suffer but should rejoice that they “participate in the sufferings of Christ”. This sense of privilege in suffering is what we should count worthy because it shows how committed we are to the calling.

Most Christians are tempted to rage against God and cast blame on Him for allowing them to suffer so harshly for so long, forgetting that carrying the cross and following Jesus isn't an easy task.

When you endure trials, you must resist the temptation to play the blame game. These lines of thinking are natural and reactive and usually cannot be avoided in the midst of such trials. Anytime something goes wrong or we suffer a loss, we’re likely to wonder why.

Your trials can become opportunities for God’s light to shine through the cracks of your brokenness.

If you want to TRANSITION from SURVIVING to THRIVING, you must be willing to see by FAITH and not by SIGHT.
