LIVING IN PLEASURE - THE LIVING-DEAD (DAY 125 OF 365)

LIVING IN PLEASURE - THE LIVING-DEAD
(Nuggets from 1 Timothy 5:6)

Today's scripture addresses PLEASURE-SEEKERS, not gender-specific as the verse portrayed, but all males and females who are supposedly known as BELIEVERS but want to blend with the world and prioritize PLEASURE over PURITY of life.

Many so-called Christians still derived joy in PLAYING WITH SIN, they seek PLEASURE uncontrollably, satisfying the flesh and starving the Spirit man.

PLEASURE-SEEKERS are those who are given to:
- LUST OF THE FLESH
- LUST OF THE EYES
- PRIDE OF LIFE

These three are summed up in one word: PLEASURE.

Any thought or opinion that does not align with the Word of God is not from God. Regardless of the situation or what you feel is the right thing to do, what God says and your obedience in doing it matters. Your flesh will always want to do what’s contradictory to the Word of God. In knowing that, we shouldn’t be surprised when we have thoughts that don’t sound like our own, especially if they don’t sound as if they’re from God and His Word. This is why being in God’s Word daily is so important. Yes, I mean every day, not just on fellowship days, or during your family morning devotion.

There are way too many Christians recklessly bowing to sin because they lack the knowledge of God’s Word and experiential knowledge of who God is. With the average person having over 6,000 thoughts daily, we can agree that not every thought you have is from God. However, when you’re rooted in God’s Word, you can identify which thoughts are from God and which are not.

If you aren’t in God’s Word daily, you base your opinions and decisions on what you feel is right instead of what is right, which is always revealed in God’s Word. It’s time to stop following your feelings. It’s time to pick up God’s Word and let that be the uncompromising foundation of your life for answering all questions and making any decisions. In doing so, you will cast down every thought in opposition to God’s Word, making your mind obedient to Christ.

The WORLD is a difficult foe, It is a fortified wall around you. The FLESH is even MORE DANGEROUS because it is entrenched inside of you. However, as you gain victory over THE FOE OUTSIDE, you begin to understand the ENEMY WITHIN - THE FLESH.

Those who are constantly LIVING IN PLEASURE are otherwise known as THE LIVING DEAD, and how do you identify them?

- They OVERESTIMATE themselves.

- They UNDERESTIMATE the enemy within.

- They ASSUME God is still with them even though they play with sin; they abuse the GRACE OF GOD and the Blood of Jesus.

- They are BLIND to their INNER WEAKNESSES (they make light of the besetting sins that have ruined them already, still pretending to be following).

These actions of theirs lead to IGNORANCE and UNREPENTANCE of HIDDEN/SECRET SINS.

RIGHTEOUSNESS keeps you alive, but sin makes you a LIVING-DEAD person. The fact that you are breathing and your heart is still beating is not enough to conclude that you are alive.

THE REAL LIFE IS A LIFE THAT STEMS FROM RIGHTEOUSNESS, HOLINESS AND SPOTLESS, BLAMELESS, AND FAULTLESS PURITY.

This is HOLINESS CHALLENGE
