ROMANS 12:9
In today's HOLINESS CHALLENGE, I challenge you to LOVE SINCERELY WITHOUT PRETENCE, HATE EVERY FORM OR APPEARANCE OF EVIL AND HOLD ON TO DOING GOOD ALWAYS.
LOVE is one of the most USED and ABUSED words in the world today.
There are different definitions of 'love', but in our context, it means AFFECTION WITH THE PUREST OF INTENTIONS, absolutely SELFLESS, UNCONDITIONAL, and SACRIFICIAL, that is exhibited towards someone who doesn't deserve it or has the position to reciprocate.
This is LOVE AT IT'S BEST!
This is different from 'Eros' - sensual love or 'Phileo' - love for relatives.
What people profess as sensual love is actually LUST and this is the opposite of the kind of LOVE the Bible recommends.
How to identify FAKE LOVE is that it ALWAYS INVOLVES TAKING while the REAL LOVE ALWAYS INVOLVES SACRIFICIAL GIVING. Agape Love is SELFLESS and ENDURING, the Christ kind of Love.
Love is the Foundation upon which our Salvation was built and therefore, our Righteousness equally takes its bearing from Love.
If you Love the Lord, you will ABHOR EVIL and every appearance of it. You can't Love God and Love sin at the same time, implying that if you Love sin, you are an enemy of the Kingdom.
Doing what is GOOD means having a penchant for not just morality but RIGHTEOUS LIVING, HOLINESS, PURITY, UPRIGHTNESS and pleasing God ALWAYS.
LOVE IS THE CENTRAL MESSAGE, LOVE IS PRACTICAL & ACTIVE, SO IF YOU TRULY LOVE THE LORD, IT WILL REFLECT IN YOUR CHOICE OF RIGHT LIVING OVER SIN AND GOOD OVER EVIL.
