PHILIPPIANS 2:8
In today's HOLINESS CHALLENGE, I challenge you to HUMBLE YOURSELF LIKE JESUS AND DIE TO SELF JUST AS CHRIST GAVE UP HIS WILL AND DIED ON THE CROSS.
This is the season we commemorate Jesus' sacrifice on the cross that paved the way for our salvation - what a good time to talk about HUMILITY & DEATH TO SELF.
Jesus Christ our Lord was humility exemplified. If being humble was a person, then it would be Jesus.
When it was time to come and redeem mankind, He didn't argue with God or chicken out; He offered Himself like a sheep to be slaughtered. Jesus stripped Himself of His position as the second person in the Trinity.
Jesus became a man just to save humanity. He condescended and became mortal, with limitations and even went the extra mile of submitting Himself to die on the cross in a humiliating way, the execution meant for criminals in Rome.
What more is left to say about this perfect example of Christ?
He has shown us what it means to be humble, and we are left with no option but to follow suit.
It takes humility to take up one's cross and follow Jesus. The cross epitomizes suffering, restrictions, and letting go of one's will. You must be ready to give up your ego and pride.
The next is to DIE to self and to the flesh. You become numb and insensitive to the desires of the flesh. Crucify the old man in you, the natural man that is inclined to sin and natural tendencies (The Adamic nature).
In Summary, if you are not ready to be HUMBLE and DIE to self like Jesus did, then your commitment to God is questionable.
Surrender all to Jesus today and yield to Him without reservations.
