DAY 82 OF 365
ROMANS 8:12
In today's HOLINESS CHALLENGE, I challenge you to LIVE DAILY WITH THE CONSCIOUSNESS THAT YOU ARE UNDER OBLIGATION TO SATISFY YOUR SPIRIT MAN, NOT THE FLESH.
Apostle Paul admonished the church in Rome, telling them that they were not indebted to the flesh, in other words, they should not satisfy or live after the FLESH, but the SPIRIT.
Investing your energy in the FLESH is a futile effort because one day, that flesh will pack up but your Spirit being will live on and proceed to the REALM OF ETERNITY.
Your FLESH is MORTAL, but your SPIRIT is ETERNAL. Your Spirit being is the REAL you, that component of your life that should align with God's nature, so when you spend more time nurturing it, you are making a worthwhile investment.
This means that you must avoid anything that will lead to sensual or fleshly gratification. Whatever gratifies the FLESH irritates the SPIRIT and is an offence to God.
You wouldn't want to spend your time doing things that glorify the devil and irritate God.
You should subject your FLESH to the will of God, and never succumb to temptation. This can be achieved only through SANCTIFICATION.
When you are sanctified, your flesh is subdued alongside the lust and evil desires, you lose appetite for sin completely.
STARVE THE FLESH AND FEED THE SPIRIT!
