THE POOR AND CONTRITE IN SPIRIT - Nuggets from Isaiah 66:2

DAY 119 OF 365

ISAIAH 66:2

In today's HOLINESS CHALLENGE, I challenge you to ALWAYS APPROACH GOD'S PRESENCE WITH HUMILITY, REMORSE AND CONTRITION, AND HE WILL PAY ATTENTION TO YOU AND YOUR DEMANDS.

The Bible is replete with wonderful promises from God Himself, words of assurance that are incontrovertible, and today's verse is one of such heart-warming promises.

God doesn't pay attention to everyone. To get God's attention, YOU MUST EARN IT.

The poor in this context is not referring to financially challenged people, but those who recognise that they have a vacuum in their lives that ONLY GOD can fill. They depend on God solely, they have no other alternative and they look up to God for their DAILY SPIRITUAL SUSTENANCE.

"Give us this day our daily bread" is not only referring to physical bread or food or material needs; it goes beyond that. You should come to a point where you acknowledge that your SOUL needs more attention than your body.

God promises to never despise those who come to Him with a broken heart and contrite Spirit; above all, you must hallow God's word and place a premium on it.
