PASSION FOR GOD'S SERVICE - Nuggets from Psalm 69:9

DAY 51 OF 365

PSALM 69:9

In today's HOLINESS CHALLENGE, I challenge you to DEVELOP GREAT ZEAL FOR GOD, HIS HOUSE AND HIS SERVICE; BE READY TO BEAR ANY CRITICISMS OR INSULTS FOR THE SAKE OF CHRIST, WHILE YOU PASSIONATELY DEFEND HIS NAME AS A TRUE AMBASSADOR.

What is driving you?
Where do you channel your energy?
How passionate are you about God's house and God's work?

Many people are only passionate about their Jobs, careers, studies, children, wealth, acquisitions, spouses or loved ones. They display so much zeal and are ready to go to any length to protect their interest.

Unfortunately, the same people have zero passion for the things of God. Going to God's house is optional, doing God's work is secondary, and studying God's word or living the life God expects us to live is not a priority to them; there are other "IMPORTANT THINGS" they have to do.

The Psalmist was consumed with zeal for God, even though He was restricted from building a befitting temple for God, his son, Solomon made it happen during His reign as the King of Israel, building an edifice for God, which turned out to be a centre of attraction.

David also wrote this prophetic Psalm, talking about how Jesus would be so zealous with the house of God, which we saw in the way He went about teaching teachers of the law and also driving away people who wanted to turn the temple into a house of merchandise.

Be ready to bear criticisms and take any insult for the sake of God whilst you defend the truth and the Gospel of the Kingdom.
