1 PETER 1:7
In today's HOLINESS CHALLENGE, I challenge you to GET READY FOR THE TRIAL OF YOUR FAITH; DO NOT GET DISCOURAGED WHEN TESTED, RATHER, STAND FIRM IN YOUR BELIEF IN CHRIST, SO THAT ULTIMATELY, GOD WILL FIND YOU WORTHY OF COMMENDATION WHEN OUR LORD JESUS COMES FOR HIS OWN.
Our FAITH in Christ here refers to our level of conviction and belief. What we stand for, your experience with Christ which has made you unmovable and unshakable.
This FAITH is different from the Faith which shows that we are expectant or hopeful, believing that God's blessings would come our way.
The FAITH in our context has an undertone of BOLDNESS, RUGGEDNESS, RADICALITY and FIRMNESS. This kind of FAITH comes when one is EMPOWERED by the HOLY GHOST.
This was the FAITH that made MARTYRS of old, the FAITH that made the Apostles to put their lives on the line for the sake of the GOSPEL. This was the FAITH that made Stephen to forgive those who stoned him to death, because he saw the glory ahead which could not be compared with the pains he went through before death.
The Apostles who were martyred knew that their death for the sake of the Gospel was for a higher calling and prize and they couldn't jettison their belief in God for anything.
They died holding on to God.
They died flying the gospel flag so high.
Today, we have majority of the Christians living in convenience, practicing Christianity in their comfort zones with no form of persecution or trials.
Do you think of the other Christians in countries where the gospel is banned? Where Evangelism is an offense punishable by the law?
Places where you cannot walk up to someone and preach the gospel without getting arrested or incarcerated.
No matter how the trial of your Faith comes, just be prepared to hold on like the Apostles of old did.
You need to ask the Holy Spirit for enablement and empowerment to be a BOLD CHRISTIAN.
Remember that THOSE WHO HOLD ON TILL THE END WILL BE SAVED.
As Gold is tried in fire to remove the dross and impurities and reveal the beautiful lustre, God wants to use these trials and persecutions to bring out the best in us.
LET YOUR FAITH IN GOD MAKE YOU TO BE FOUND WORTHY OF PRAISE, HONOR AND GLORY WHEN JESUS APPEARS TO REUNITE WITH HIS BRIDE - THE CHURCH.
BE DETERMINED TO HOLD OUT TILL THE END!
