MATTHEW 6:22-23
In today's HOLINESS CHALLENGE, I challenge you to DISCIPLINE YOUR EYES AND KEEP THEM SINGLE TO KEEP YOUR LIGHT SHINING; DO NOT USE THEM TO BEHOLD EVIL, WHICH WOULD LEAD TO DARKNESS.
"The light of the body is the eye."
This means that it is your eyes that illumine your entire being. What you allow your eyes to see matters a lot and can either make or mar you.
What do you feed your eyes with?
Keeping your eyes single means to lose sight of everything else and FOCUS ON GOD with utmost concentration.
You see the same way cameramen or photographers focus with just one eye with the second one shut, have you ever wondered why? They do so to ensure that they don't get distracted by anything else around them whilst they FOCUS on the composition and object or image they want to capture.
In like manner, if you must retain the light of God in you, avoid anything that will introduce darkness into your life.
SEE NO EVIL!
Discipline your eyes and tell yourself that you will never feed your eyes with any form of evil.
LET YOUR EYES BE SINGLE!
