2 TIMOTHY 3:12
In today's HOLINESS CHALLENGE, I challenge you to BRACE UP AND PREPARE FOR PERSECUTION, IF YOU ARE TRULY A GENUINE CHRISTIAN.
Jesus already gave us a hint: "TAKE UP YOUR CROSS AND FOLLOW ME."
You and I know that the cross is not a pleasant thing. It reflects pain, suffering, discomfort, and every unsavoury thing you could ever think of.
It simply means that we should get ready to get our own dose of what Jesus went through, simply because we have identified with Him.
This does not imply that God hates us or intentionally wants to punish us. It only means that the same way we partake of the suffering of Jesus, we will also partake in His Glory at the end of our Christian Journey.
Don't throw in the towel now that you know persecutions are underway; instead be courageous and ask God for grace to pull you through the persecutions and trials.
It could come from anyone: friends, family, church, neighbors, colleagues, superiors at work, etc.
No matter where it comes from, don't make the mistake of murmuring or regretting the decision to follow Jesus.
Rejoice instead, seeing the glory ahead and counting yourself worthy to share in Christ's suffering.
If it hasn't come, wait for it; but if you're experiencing it already, hang in there, you will scale through successfully.
