EPHESIANS 2:2
In today's HOLINESS CHALLENGE, I challenge you to RESIST THE WAYS OF THE WORLD AND THE INFLUENCE OF THE DEVIL.
Paul writes about the former way of life of the Ephesians, before they knew Christ. He describes how they once lived, following the course of this world, following the ruler of the power of the air, the spirit who is now at work in the sons of disobedience.
Now, this is a challenge to Christians because it highlights the constant struggle against the influence of the world and the devil.
The "course of this world" refers to the values, behaviors, and patterns of thinking that are contrary to God's will. The "ruler of the power of the air" is a reference to satan, who seeks to deceive and lead people away from God.
We have to consciously resist these influences and to live in a way that reflects the new identity in Christ by rejecting worldly values, Christians must discern and reject values and behaviors that contradict biblical principles. Reflecting this new identity also by resisting the devil, christians are called to stand firm against the devil's temptations and schemes and walk in obedience, must strive to live in accordance with God's commands and the guidance of the Holy Spirit.
This struggle is ongoing, but through faith in Christ and the power of the Holy Spirit, Christians can overcome these challenges and live lives that are pleasing to God.
