1 CORINTHIANS 8:10
In today's HOLINESS CHALLENGE, I challenge you to AVOID DOING ANYTHING THAT WILL MAKE THE WEAK IN THE HOUSEHOLD OF FAITH TO ERR AND DERAIL.
Corinth was originally known for their indulgence in idolatrous practices and this posed a threat to the Church in Corinth, hence the concern expressed by Apostle Paul in this verse. He observed that some believers in the church then didn't find it absurd to eat food sacrificed to idols, not minding that this act could confuse and discourage the newbies in Christ.
In the household of Faith (the Christian assembly), there are the strong as well as the weak in Faith.
It takes maturity as a Christian to understand that certain things you do could pose a threat to the Faith of someone who just got converted.
For instance, you should know that as a child of God, you shouldn't be found in the midst of drunkards sitting at a bear parlour or with prostitutes in a brothel, even if you think you have excess anointing that can convert any kind of sinner.
What if some new convert happens to be a passer-by and suddenly finds you sitting with such people, how do you intend to explain to them that you are not an accomplice?
Even if you have good intentions, for the sake of the weak in Faith, for the avoidance of misrepresentation or misconstruction, MIND WHERE YOU VISIT, BE CAREFUL OF YOUR ACTIONS, and always remember that someone may be watching you closely and you wouldn't want to be the reason a proselyte suddenly decides to opt out from his/her new found Faith.
DON'T BE A STUMBLING BLOCK OR NEGATIVE INFLUENCE TO SOME WEAK CHRISTIAN OUT THERE STILL STRUGGLING TO FIND THEIR FEET; BE MINDFUL OF YOUR LIFESTYLE & ACTIONS.
