MATTHEW 5:14
In today's HOLINESS CHALLENGE, I challenge you to BE A LIGHT INDEED WHEREVER YOU ARE, SHINE SO BRIGHT AND BEAM IT FOR EVERYONE AROUND YOU TO SEE.
Light symbolizes the PRESENCE OF GOD, RIGHTEOUSNESS, HOLINESS, TRUTH and every other attribute of God.
Jesus Himself is the LIGHT as described in John 1:4-5:
John 1:4-5 KJV
"[4] In him was life; and the life was the light of men. [5] And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not."
Jesus was life personified whilst here on Earth and He is still life today and forever. His attribute as LIFE was evident in His MISSION ON EARTH, to bring salvation to mankind, delivering us from ETERNAL DOOM/DEATH and offering us LIFE.
His life was a shining light to many, as He served multitudes with healing, deliverance, provision and most importantly - SALVATION.
If you are a child of God indeed and a GENUINE DISCIPLE of Christ, you must align with Him in all aspects, displaying His attributes, one of which is LIGHT.
You can't be a follower of Christ and still work in darkness. Jesus' life was the LIGHT OF MEN, everyone who knew Jesus saw it and experienced it first hand.
LIGHT can never be comprehended or overpowered, suppressed or intimidated by DARKNESS, instead, darkness flees at the sight of light.
In like manner, as the LIGHT OF THIS WORLD, you must not allow any form of DARKNESS to overshadow or overpower you. Darkness here refers to every form of sin/evil.
Yes, evil is on the increase and it keeps getting worse by the day, but God expects us to be the LIGHT INDEED and INCREASE THE INTENSITY OF YOUR BRIGHTNESS by SHINING wherever you are.
There is a constant battle between GOOD and EVIL, TRUTH AND FALSEHOOD, and of course, LIGHT and DARKNESS, but some battles are already won ab initio and the battle of LIGHT against DARKNESS is one of such.
Light cannot be hidden, and the presence of light dispels every form of DARKNESS, no matter how thick.
Whenever LIGHT is absent, DARKNESS prevails but when there is LIGHT, darkness is ELIMINATED.
LIGHT is TRUTH and vice versa.
As the LIGHT of this world, you are expected to be a messenger of truth, countering every error and exposing every doctrinal falsehood.
If you are the LIGHT, you can never be deceived by peddlers of BLASPHEMIES and HERESIES.
You're a city in a HILL, you can never and you should never be hidden!
Step out from that doldrums of darkness today and SHINE YOUR LIGHT for all to see.
