OVERPOWERED AND ENSLAVED BY SIN

This is a clear instruction from Apostle Paul to the church in Rome and by extension to the church in this present age - "LET NOT SIN REIGN IN YOUR MORTAL BODY."
What does it mean for sin to reign in one's mortal body?

 
When sin now lords it over you, when sin now controls your life to the point that it has now become a LIFESTYLE, a norm and daily practice, such a person is said to have sin reigning in his/her mortal body.

 
You are a slave to whomever or whatever you yield yourself to or obey. The moment you submit yourself to sin, you automatically become a captive, having no will power of your own; at that point, sin now decides your LIFE and FATE.

 
The mortal body is NEUTRAL.
It can be used for RIGHTEOUSNESS or UNRIGHTEOUSNESS depending on you.
You are the one to decide what your body is used for - GOOD OR BAD. The choice is yours to make, but you must remember that there are consequences for every bad choice, hence Apostle Paul's recommendation - THAT YOU SHOULD NOT LET SIN REIGN IN YOUR MORTAL BODY.

 
Sin can only reign in your mortal body when you are insincere and unwilling to change. When you are comfortably practicing sin and not feeling any remorse, when you OBEY SIN and yield to the lusts thereof.

 
You do not have the power to withstand the pressure of sin. That is why you NEED TO RECOURSE TO THE CROSS, drop every load of sin there and seek SANCTIFICATION.

 
Salvation should not be your final bus stop, so you don't get saved and relax; that is when the battle between your flesh and spirit begins, with your SOUL as the bone of contention.

 
Your body can only be subdued when the nature of sin is deactivated at Sanctification.
Let the word of God INFLUENCE you, not sin.

 
GET SAVED, GET SANCTIFIED CONTINUOUSLY AND LET YOUR RENEWED SPIRIT HAVE FULL CONTROL OVER YOUR MORTAL BODY.
