LUKE 1:6
In today's HOLINESS CHALLENGE, I challenge you to BE CHALLENGED BY THE STORY OF ZECHARIAH AND ELIZABETH IN THE BIBLE, WHO DESPITE HAVING NO CHILD AT AN OLD AGE REMAINED RIGHTEOUS AND BLAMELESS BEFORE GOD.
The couple who would later birth the forerunner of the MESSIAH - John the Baptist at this time had a predicament, having been childless for so long.
Elizabeth, an elder cousin to Mary, the virgin who would birth Jesus was a ROLE MODEL indeed. She was a woman of Faith and remained intentional in her devotion to God despite her barrenness.
God later visited her and blessed her with the fruit of the womb 6 months before Mary had the Immaculate conception of our Lord and savior, Jesus Christ.
What is the striking lesson here?
Whilst Elizabeth believed the word of God to her husband Zechariah through Angel Gabriel, the husband doubted but that didn't stop God from fulfilling his promise, even though he was struck with dumbness for his unbelief, His righteousness and that of His wife was a monument before God.
This is a call to remain steadfast and devoted to God irrespective of any situation you find yourself.
GOD'S PROMISES NEVER FAIL.
There is no justification for compromise because you are going through some challenges in life. Remember those who have gone before you and passed through this world but remained FAITHFUL even in the midst of life-threatening situations.
DON'T DISAPPOINT GOD!
KEEP TRUSTING, KEEP BELIEVING, KEEP OBEYING AGAINST ALL ODDS.
