1 KINGS 20:11
In today's HOLINESS CHALLENGE, I challenge you to STAY HUMBLE AND NEVER BOAST ABOUT YOUR SPIRITUAL LIFE OR ACHIEVEMENTS AS A CHRISTIAN; BE CAREFUL AND ALWAYS REMEMBER THAT UNTIL YOU GET TO HEAVEN, YOU'RE STILL VULNERABLE, AND ANYTHING COULD HAPPEN.
Ahab, the King of Israel was cautioning Ben-Hadad to refrain from boasting as though he had won the battle yet. Ben-Hadad, a King of Syria was full of himself, and that was the height of folly.
In application, as children of God, we are on a battlefield, and it is totally UNWISE for any child of God to boast about your SPIRITUALITY or EXPLOITS as though you have already conquered and gotten to Heaven already.
If there must be any boasting, BOAST IN THE LORD AND IN YOUR RELATIONSHIP WITH HIM, SHOWING HOW PROUD YOU ARE TO ASSOCIATE WITH HIM; every other form of boasting is IRRELEVANT.
Boasting as a warrior could be justified when the battle is over and you secured the victory ultimately, but anything aside this is detrimental to you and makes you a potential victim and target of the devil.
Do not boast that you're still standing whilst making a mockery of others who may have fallen along the way, probably because you feel you have all it takes to stand till the end.
If God does not help you as a Christian, you will be an easy prey in the hands of the devil, so the best you can do for yourself is to remain humble and allow God to lead you through till the end.
IT IS NOT YET OVER UNTIL IT IS OVER!
