EZRA 10:11
In today's HOLINESS CHALLENGE, I challenge you to CONFESS YOUR SINS UNTO GOD, SEPARATE YOURSELF FROM EVERY FORM OF SPIRITUAL ADULTERY AND REMAIN BETROTHED TO CHRIST.
Every TRUE BELIEVER is a bride of Christ, the BRIDEGROOM. The moment you signed up to follow Jesus, handing over your life to Him, you became betrothed to Him.
This is the case for every member of the BODY OF CHRIST who is part of the UNIVERSAL CHURCH.
It is this UNIVERSAL CHURCH that Jesus Christ is coming for at the RAPTURE.
Now in this scripture, Ezra was reproving the Israelites who married foreign women despite the fact that it was a contravention of God's laws for the Jews.
The instruction here was dual - CONFESSION and SEPARATION (Repentance and withdrawal from the strange marriages they had indulged in).
In our context, God is not speaking to the Jews now, but to everyone reading this - classified as a Gentile.
When you give your life to Jesus, He expects you to disconnect and dissociate yourself from every UNGODLY indulgence, all forms of IDOLATRY and SPIRITUAL ADULTERY, because God made it known to Israel of old that He is a JEALOUS GOD.
Indulging in SPIRITUAL ADULTERY here means to engage in IDOLATROUS PRACTICES, all forms of worldly activities and fleshly desires, as well as everything else that takes your attention and focus away from God.
Anyone or anything you pay more attention to at the expense of your relationship with God is your IDOL.
Unfortunately, many Christians today are IDOLATERS, unbeknownst to them.
What are those 'STRANGE WIVES' in your life?
What are those IDOLS you are entangled with?
GIVE THEM UP already, CONFESS those sins, REPENT, and SEPARATE YOURSELF from among them, and God will work in you and with you.
