DAY 217 OF 365
1 CORINTHIANS 15:33
In today's HOLINESS CHALLENGE, I challenge you to BE MINDFUL OF THE KIND OF COMPANY YOU KEEP.
This is a call to be careful with the kind of people you call your friends or acquaintances, those you spend your time with because those you surround yourselves with can significantly influence your behavior, values, and beliefs.
Apostle Paul, in his letter to the Corinthian church, cautioned them to beware of ungodly influence which would potentially lead them astray if they failed to adhere.
The core idea is that just as a disease can spread from one person to another, negative behaviors and attitudes can spread within a group. If we consistently spend time with people who exhibit negative traits, we are more likely to adopt those traits ourselves. This isn't just about avoiding "bad" people, but also about being mindful of the overall atmosphere and influence of the groups we belong to. It's about recognizing that our character is shaped by the circle of friends we keep.
Check those people you spend time with; are they helping you to become a better version of yourself?
Do they encourage your faith, values, and goals?
Or are they pulling you down, tempting you to compromise and give up your principles and standards?
It's a reminder that you have a responsibility to protect your character and that one viable way to do so is by choosing your company wisely. The ultimate message is clear: surround yourself with those who uplift and inspire you, and distance yourself from those who tend to lead you astray.
THE TYPE OF COMMUNICATION YOU ENGAGE IN WILL EITHER MAKE YOU OR MAR YOU.
BE WISE!
