DAY 176 OF 365
ROMANS 6:11
In today's HOLINESS CHALLENGE, I challenge you to CONSIDER YOURSELF CRUCIFIED AND DEAD WITH CHRIST AND ALIVE TO GOD.
Being crucified with Christ entails
nailing all about you to the cross, your old man (the natural man), your passions, desires, habits, lifestyle, thoughts, actions, in fact, EVERYTHING without exception.
Identifying with Christ is not passive.
For your salvation and your walk with Jesus to be effective, you must identify with His death on the cross and His resurrection which signifies victory over every limitation.
The dead do not respond to STIMULUS, nothing moves, excites or triggers them. The death in our context is not literal death, but a CONSCIOUSNESS that you no longer respond to the FLESH, you are INSENSITIVE to sins of the Flesh, giving an upper hand to the SPIRIT MAN.
When you are dead to the flesh, you are alive in the Spirit, and vice versa.
Reckoning yourself dead with Christ means that you have no business with the LUST OF THE FLESH, LUST OF THE EYES, and PRIDE OF LIFE.
Your interests now align with God's will, and your goal in life would be to make God happy at all times, to live a life worthy of emulation by men and commendation by God.
It is possible to be alive literally but dead to the flesh. In the matter of dying to the FLESH, you have a role to play before God can help you make it a reality.
The price you have to pay is DISCIPLINE while you seek SANCTIFICATION and then the GRACE of God can work effectively in you.
The catalyst is your DISCIPLINE and constant desire for SANCTIFICATION.
When you are SANCTIFIED, you become SPIRITUALLY-MINDED and NUMB to the flesh and its activities.
JUST LIKE A SEED MUST FIRST OF ALL DIE IN THE SOIL THE SPRINGING FORTH OF THE PLANT, YOU CANNOT LIVE IN THE SPIRIT IF YOU ARE NOT READY TO DIE TO THE FLESH.
IT TAKES DEATH TO LIVE!
