DAY 149 OF 365
MATTHEW 3:2
In today's HOLINESS CHALLENGE, I challenge you to TURN AWAY FROM YOUR EVIL DEEDS, RETURN TO GOD AND REPENT IN DUST AND ASHES, BECAUSE THE RETURN OF OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST IS DRAWING CLOSER BY THE DAY.
In this verse, John the Baptist was preaching to the Jews as He heralded the First coming of Jesus Christ, being the fore-runner who prepared the way for Jesus' ministry.
John warned them to REPENT, and turn away from all evil deeds and practices, and embrace right living.
He didn't want the coming Messiah to meet them in their sins, neither did he want Jesus Christ to find them unprepared.
In like manner, the scripture is so relevant in our time. It speaks to us in this generation, having seen clearly that we are the generation that will witness the second coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, there is need to REPENT AND TURN AWAY FROM ALL SINFUL ACTS.
The first advent of our Lord Jesus was for SALVATION, but His second coming is for JUDGMENT, to ESTABLISH HIS KINGDOM HERE ON EARTH, with the INTRODUCTION OF THE NEW HEAVEN AND NEW EARTH.
The second coming of Jesus Christ will be the fulfillment of the Lord's prayer - THY WILL BE DONE ON EARTH AS IT IS IN HEAVEN. When the Government of our Lord Jesus Christ is ushered in here on earth, His glory will fill the entire universe and all flesh shall do His will.
He is coming again to JUDGE THE WICKED and ENFORCE RIGHTEOUSNESS and HOLINESS.
It is therefore imperative that everyone who is truly awaiting the second coming of our Lord Jesus Christ prepare themselves and repent from all evil deeds in order to be JUSTIFIED and not CONDEMNED.
HAVE YOU TRULY REPENTED?
