PROCESSING YOUR WORDS THROUGH THE GATES - Nuggets from Proverbs 15:2

DAY 179 OF 365

PROVERBS 15:2

In today's HOLINESS CHALLENGE, I challenge you to USE YOUR TONGUE WISELY AND LET YOUR WORDS BE FILLED WITH KNOWLEDGE; ALWAYS PROCESS YOUR WORDS AND SELECT THEM BEFORE YOU SPEAK.

There are three major gates through which your words must pass if you are really intentional about using your tongue rightly. They are:

1. Is it TRUE?
2. Is it NECESSARY?
3. Is it KIND?

We live in a world where many are given to LYING INDISCRIMINATELY and recklessly.
It is possible to avoid lies, let your words be TRUE, let your YES be YES and let your NO be NO.

While giving a reported speech, don't modify it to suit yourself or thrill your audience. Let your words be TRUE!

The next gate is: IS IT NECESSARY?
Not every word is worth uttering.
It is not everything you hear or know that is worth saying; some things are better left unsaid.

Control your words and SPEAK ONLY WHEN NECESSARY.

Next, you need to ask yourself if those words are KIND. Be kind with your words, don't just throw them out just like that without bothering how the recipient feels.

Put yourself in others' shoes and always ask yourself if you would take the same words you throw at others.

It is important as a Christian who is intentional about HOLINESS to make your words EDIFYING and worthy to hear.

DO NOT TALK BEFORE YOU THINK, ALWAYS THINK BEFORE YOU TALK.
